Description of project: Lunar Illusions
Lunar Illusions is a transmedia beauty collection that explores how virtual identities merge into our ideas of self. Inspired by nightlife, lunar and farside, the digital native collection presents a moment within an ever-evolving chain reaction between ourselves and virtual identities. The 5 looks each present a version of our shadow selves, inspired by our gravity vibrations with the moon and how mediated images create an impact on our daily digital lives.
The poem “FarSide” challenges the idea that our identity is fixed as one thing or another. We grow and change, flowing like the tide coming in and out, drawn by the moon to be both the Hunted and the Hunter.
The influence of the moon and its shadow side is evident in the duality presented throughout the track. "CruX" embodies the nocturnal dominance of the moon, with deep, resonant bass lines and ethereal, high-pitched melodies creating a sense of vastness and mystery. The lunar theme also inspires the use of reverb and echo effects, giving the track a spacious, otherworldly feel that evokes the emptiness and beauty of a moonscape.
The fashion film has been exhibited at Digital Fashion Week New York and London Epic Games, Brooklyn Fashion Week, Brooklyn Public Library. Project iterations have also been presented at Brazil Immersive Fashion Week and Helsinki Fashion Week.
