The nextReality.festival 2024 was a two-day event celebrating the most exciting and innovative developments in immersive technologies and media. With a successful mix of conference sessions, exhibition, award ceremony, and networking events, the festival offered a unique platform for professionals, creatives, enthusiasts, and everyone interested in the XR world. On November 13 and 14, the festival took place for the very first time in Hamburg’s historic Speicherstadt; and with around 50 speakers, more than 20 exhibitors, and over 300 attendees, it not only exceeded expectations but also marked a significant and celebratory milestone for the XR community in the city. The vibrant atmosphere, shaped by the blend of cutting-edge technologies, passionate creators, and curious minds, turned the event into a resounding success; it served not only as a professional gathering but also as a powerful catalyst for dialogue, collaboration, and the shaping of shared visions for the immersive future.
The Conference
The conference featured thematic tracks offering exciting insights into various application fields of extended reality. Renowned keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and inspiring panel discussions brought participants up to date with the latest technology and trends.
The Exhibition
The exhibition showcased not only the nominated projects of the nextReality.Contest 2024 but also startups, companies, and projects from Hamburg and beyond. Visitors could experience immersive technologies up close – and entirely without a ticket, as the exhibition was free and open to everyone. A special highlight was the XRC24 Award Ceremony on November 13 at the Astor Film Lounge, where outstanding projects were honored in various categories.
A Few Impressions
The perfect finale was the After-Show ComeTogether at VRHQ – with music, drinks, and many inspiring conversations in a relaxed atmosphere. The nextReality.festival 2024 was the perfect place to learn about the latest developments in the XR industry, make valuable connections, and shape the future of immersive media together.
