Juliane Boenecke

Juliane Boenecke began her career as a physiotherapist in 2011 and has been working at the intersection of health sciences and digital innovation since 2017. Holding both a BSc and MSc in Health Sciences, she specializes in developing interactive digital solutions for complex challenges – particularly in the fields of public health intelligence and epidemic preparedness and response.

Since 2020, she has been part of the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) in Hamburg, where she focuses on creating tools that foster interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge transfer through user-centered and engaging design. A key aspect of her work is leveraging simulation, gamification, and immersive technologies to make research and education more accessible and impactful.

Her projects include international collaborations across Sub-Saharan Africa, South and Central America, and the Pacific Islands.
