Prof. Dr. Johanna Pirker

Johanna Pirker is a computer scientist specializing in game development, immersive technologies, and AI-driven learning environments. She is a Full Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Professor at Graz University of Technology (TUG). She previously held positions at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) and as a Visiting Professor at ETH Zürich. After early career stations at EA and research at MIT, she now focuses on how games and virtual worlds can foster education, accessibility, diversity, and real-world impact. She is a member of the Austrian Research Council FORWIT and was featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in science. She streams and presentes games and science content on Twitch and YouTube as „JoeyPrink“. She was recently appointed as a panel member of the United Nation's Independent International Scientific Panel on AI.
