Sound Engineer for Immersive 3D Audio

VRTONUNG

Martin Rieger is a sound engineer working exclusively on immersive 3D audio, for over ten years, across 100+ projects in 15+ countries, from 360° field recordings under extreme conditions to post-production in his Munich studio (VRTonung). He builds spatial audio for extended reality: object-based, head-tracked audio for a BMW and Harman/Kardon VR showroom experience at CES and IAA, a walkable Apple Vision Pro store activation for BOSS and Aston Martin Aramco F1, and an interactive VR experience for deaf and hearing audiences. He is a founding member of XRBavaria e.V. and helped shape the German job profile Designer for Immersive Media.

Why Nobody Talks About Sound in XR, But Should

At events, trade shows and XR experiences, almost every budget goes into visuals: screens, lighting, tracking. Sound stays the last checkbox before launch, even though it is often the moment that makes an experience actually work. Martin Rieger has worked exclusively on immersive 3D audio for over ten years, format-independent and with no interest in selling one particular system. Drawing on real projects, he shows where spatial sound makes a difference no screen can replace, and where it is just expensive overhead. Honest, with real examples, so sound is not decided last in your next production.
